On July
8, 2026, the EU released the revised draft of the RoHS lead and cadmium
exemption provisions. It intends to revise the exemption provisions for lead
and cadmium in Annex III and Annex IV of the EU RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU).
The draft is open for public consultation starting from the date of release,
and the consultation period is from July 8, 2026 to August 5, 2026. It is
recommended that enterprises related to lamps for the EU market, medical
devices, industrial monitoring instruments, optical testing instruments, and
various electronic and electrical products carry out relevant material
screening work in advance and formulate compliance risk response plans.
